The family of the former Governor of Gombe State and Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District of Gombe State, Senator Danjuma Goje, has denied a viral video circulating on social media, insinuating that money was sprayed at the wedding ceremony of his daughter, Fauziyya Danjuma Goje.
In a statement, Muhammad Adamu Yayari, Media aide to Sen. Muhammad Danjuma Goje on behalf of the Goje family, dismissed the allegation as a mischievous, blatant, and calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the revered family and guests who attended the ceremony.
It would be recalled that the wedding between Fauziyya Danjuma Goje and her groom Aliyu Ahmed Abubakar was held on Friday, 25th October 2024 at the Central Mosque in Abuja, and was attended by prominent dignitaries, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, serving and former governors, serving and former members of the National Assembly, and the National Security Adviser, among others.
President Bola Tinubu served as the “Waliy” (Guardian) of the bride while the immediate past governor of Gombe State, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo, served as the representative of the groom at the wedding rite.
The family said it is “unthinkable and mischievous for disgruntled elements to share the viral dollar-spraying video depicting or insinuating the same to be part of the celebration of Fauziyya’s wedding.”
“Goje’s family is revered and would never stoop so low as to engage in or condone an activity that is contrary to the laws of Nigeria.”
“We want to state that the said bride and groom seen in the viral video are not the newly wedded daughter of Danjuma Goje and her groom, and there are no familiar faces to the family; thus, the video is not in any way related to Goje and his entire family.”

“We believe this malicious video is the handiwork of mischief-makers seeking to sabotage the successful ceremony and bring denigration to the entire family and its esteemed guests. We urge the public to disregard this baseless claim and appreciate the values of decency and respect that define our family.”
“Throughout the line of events to celebrate the wedding, there was no place where men and women were mixed.”
“We appreciate the support and goodwill of friends, associates, and well-wishers during this joyous occasion.”
